5 Fun Thrifted Mystery Boxes You Need To Try

A mystery box is pretty self explanatory – you get a box full of stuff where the specific items are unknown before you open them. Thrifted mystery boxes are a new and exciting way to get discount apparel while supporting sustainable shopping practices.

If you aren’t too picky about the clothes you wear and like to shop sustainably, thrifted mystery boxes are probably a great option for you. Here are 5 companies that sell thrifted mystery boxes that you should try at least once.

1) Goodfair

Goodfair sells bundled mystery boxes where you can choose from many different categories.

They have garment-specific bundles like a set of two granny sweatshirts or even a set of 4 men’s flannel shirts

Goodfair also assembles custom bundles like their popular Mother Earth bundle which contains 2 printed t-shirts, 2 blank t-shirts, 2 flannels and a crewneck sweatshirt all for only $35.

You can save 30% off your first purchase by clicking here and using promo code “JOIN30” at checkout! Just be sure to read up on their return policy before shopping!

2) NativeGood

NativeGood is very similar to Goodfair in that they sell thrifted mystery boxes by category. Check out this thrifted t-shirt bundle for only $30.

Their category bundles are more limited than Goodfair but NativeGood looks to put a little more effort into the items in their mystery boxes. They claim all their clothes are pre-washed and without holes or stains. Goodfair makes no such claims that we can find.

NativeGood also claims in some of their advertising to be a bit more “curated” about their items than Goodfair. We’re not sure if that’s something that can actually be validated but you can shop with NativeGood risk free since they’ll swap out bundles for free if you’re dissatisfied.

3) Bulk Vintage Warehouse

Bulk Vintage Warehouse is another thrifted mystery box company but they lean towards wholesale inventory rather than personal invetnory like NativeGood and Goodfair.

They offer mystery boxes by bundle, category, and even weight. Even their smallest sizes are quite large. The smallest set we found was 6. So if you’re not particularly interested in a high volume of clothes, they might not be the best bet.

But if you are interested in buying in bulk, then this is a great place to shop. You can get up to 200 pounds of clothes at Bulk Vintage Warehouse. That’s a lot of thrifting!

4) Thrift Vintage Fashion

Thrift Vintage Fashion really splits the difference between Goodfair, NativeGoods, and Bulk Vintage Warehouse.

You can shop for yourself, your store, or even just in bulk by category.

We love the effort they put into their categorization. Instead of just sweaters or t-shirts, they have categories in everything from Disney character sweats to Hawaiian shirts to our favorite, Crazy Nylon Jackets.

Go ahead and browse all their categories, you won’t be disappointed.

5) Goodwill Bluebox

Goodwill Bluebox packages up thrifted mystery boxes from local Goodwill stores. Restocked on Fridays at 6pm, you can buy mystery boxes by category and also buy bulk wholesale bales.

We don’t have any experience with Goodwill Bluebox but it seems to be a good deal. The only hesitation is that unlike the companies in this list, the mystery boxes from Goodwill Bluebox do not seem to be curated in any way.

Be warned if you’re looking to buy one of their wholesale bales though – they weigh 1,150 pounds and are local to a few select cities (you have to pick it up yourself). But over 1,000 pounds of clothes for $400? not too bad…
